Do I need a GP referral to see a counsellor?

No, our counselling services are available to all members of the public with or without a general practitioner's referral.



 

Are medicare and private health fund rebates available?

Medicare rebates are only available for clients that have an approved mental health care plan, referred from their treating general practitioner, for psychology services. However, At Van Ryan Therapies, we currently do not offer psychology appointments or services. Please consult your GP if a mental health care plan is required, or for psychologist referrals. 


At Van Ryan Therapies we are able to provide private health fund rebates for selected health funds. Please contact your health fund to discuss your insurance cover.

How do I pay for Van Ryan Therapy services?

Payment is expected at the end of each appointment via EFTPOS, online payment or by cash payment. 

Online bookings for zoom or FaceTime and tele-health appointments will ask for upfront payment to secure the appointment.

Receipts will be emailed or provided to you at the end of your appointment time.



I have a busy life, are after hours appointments available?

Yes, after hours appointments are available. If a requested time is not available, we encourage you to contact our reception team during office hours to request an after hours appointment. Please note that whilst we endeavour to be available as often as we can. After hours face to face appointments are limited and may only be available via online or tele-health. Please contact our reception team during our standard business hours which are Monday-Friday 8:30am till 5:30pm to arrange appointments. 


Are our sessions confidential?

Van Ryan Therapies operate with a very strict client confidentially policy. Your information and disclosures during therapy will be guarded with the upmost integrity and security measures. Van Ryan Therapies are bound by a strict code of ethical standards which dictate the limited situations of which your information can be released. Some of these situations may include:

  • A court mandated subpoena instructing Van Ryan Therapies  to provide your client information 
  • To protect your physical safety 
  • To protect the safety of someone else  

How often do I need to see a counsellor ?

The number of sessions that you attend with us is completely your decision.This will be discussed with you during your time with us. Whether you see us for one or ten sessions, our dedicated counsellors are here to support you when you need us. There are no lock in commitments or obligations to continue therapy with us.
